Shawnkeedra Houston-Martin

Shawnkeedra Houston-Martin is a native of Dallas, Texas.  She attended Prairie View A&M University where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology.

She matriculated to Texas Wesleyan University School of Law after working several years for Ford Motor Company.  There, she received her Juris Doctor degree in 2006.  She  has been a Prosecutor for the Dallas County District Attorneys Office since 2007, specializing in criminal cases.

She is married and has one step-child.  She is an active member of Golden Gate Missionary Baptist Church. She is a member of the Talitha Cumi Praise Dance team, the Receptionist Committee, the Circle of Sarah's Daughters, and the Back to School Prayer Rally team.  She is also a volunteer and mentor for young girls at Billy Earl Dade Middle School, and a volunteer for feeding the hungry at the Martin Luther King Jr. Center, both in South Dallas.
